1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Curtis Alexander on receiving the 2023 Star of Life Award from
1.3the Minnesota Ambulance Association.
1.4WHEREAS, the Minnesota Ambulance Association was created in 1960 to promote
1.5excellence and quality in the ambulance industry in Minnesota; and
1.6WHEREAS, the organization created the Star of Life Award to recognize paramedics, EMTs,
1.7dispatchers, and other EMS professionals who have resuscitated a patient, improved public health,
1.8had a positive impact in the community, or shown exceptional care and compassion; and
1.9WHEREAS, Curtis Alexander began his career with Mayo Clinic in 2019, initially as an
1.10EMT at Mayo Clinic Ambulance in Rochester, and is currently enrolled in the paramedic program
1.11through the Mayo School of Health Sciences. Curtis will graduate in May 2023; and
1.12WHEREAS, Curtis is known for his compassion for his patients and for the positive team
1.13atmosphere he brings to his position each day; and
1.14WHEREAS, Curtis is the first to greet everyone and has positive relationships with all his
1.15coworkers. He has weathered many changes in his work schedule, his partners, and his workload,
1.16yet he always rises to new levels, impressing his coworkers and all of leadership; and
1.17WHEREAS, Curtis always does his job with excellence, has a smile on his face, has an
1.18upbeat attitude, and is always looking for the next thing to do; and
1.19WHEREAS, Curtis serves his community both at home and at work, but he also goes above
1.20and beyond to serve his fellow team members and the operation; and
1.21WHEREAS, when he isn't working, Curtis is busy studying, spending time with his family,
1.22and volunteering with the Kasson Fire Department. He also enjoys ice fishing, canoeing, and
1.23camping; and
1.24WHEREAS, based on his outstanding qualifications, Curtis was one of 20 professionals to
1.25receive the 2023 Star of Life Award at a ceremony in St. Paul on March 23, 2023; and
1.26NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.27honors Curtis Alexander on receiving the 2023 Star of Life Award from the Minnesota Ambulance
1.28Association.
1.29BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.30enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.31Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Curtis Alexander.
