1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Emily Haugen of Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School for being accepted
1.3into the FFA State Choir.
1.4WHEREAS, those high school students who excel in music and the arts represent the
1.5next generation of performers admirably striving for the highest standards of excellence in their
1.6pursuits; and
1.7WHEREAS, on March 31, 2016, the Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School Vocal Music
1.8Department attended the Section 1 Solo/Ensemble Music Contest in Cannon Falls, Minnesota; and
1.9WHEREAS, Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School students competed very well in this contest;
1.10and
1.11WHEREAS, Emily Haugen, who is a soprano, received a "superior" rating for her vocal
1.12solo; and
1.13WHEREAS, Emily has been accepted into the FFA State Choir and performed on April 25,
1.142016, as part of the FFA State Convention, a tremendous honor deserving of special legislative
1.15recognition; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.17it congratulates Emily Haugen of Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School on being accepted into the
1.18FFA State Choir, and extends best wishes to her for the future.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Emily Haugen.
