1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Kenyon-Wanamingo High School boys wrestling
1.3team on winning the 2016 State High School Class A boys wrestling
1.4championship.
1.5WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.6sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.7WHEREAS, the Kenyon-Wanamingo wrestling team participated in the 2016 State High
1.8School Class A boys wrestling tournament on February 22-25, 2016, at the Xcel Energy Center
1.9in St. Paul; and
1.10WHEREAS, they defeated the Frazee Hornets 26 to 24 in the final game of the tournament
1.11to win the state championship; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Knights finished the regular season with an outstanding 33 - 3 record; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to the members of the Kenyon-Wanamingo High School boys
1.15wrestling team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.17an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.18the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.19Kenyon-Wanamingo High School.
