1.1A Senate resolution
1.2commending LeMoyne Corgard for over 30 years of dedicated service
1.3to the teaching profession.
1.4WHEREAS, those who demonstrate extraordinary dedication to upholding the highest
1.5standards of excellence in education are deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.6WHEREAS, Lemoyne is the district's elementary physical education department leader
1.7responsible for mentoring newly hired physical education teachers and is always willing to help
1.8them whenever the need arises; and
1.9WHEREAS, with his vast knowledge of the curriculum and the history of the district,
1.10Lemoyne is known as the "Go to Guy"; and
1.11WHEREAS, he spent a number of years as a high school gymnastics coach within the
1.12Anoka-Hennepin School District No. 11 and passed on his passion as a collegiate gymnast to his
1.13students. LeMoyne has also been a participant in 19 marathons, as well as numerous biathlons
1.14and triathlons in his outstanding career; and
1.15WHEREAS, LeMoyne is an outstanding role model for his students and colleagues on
1.16how a physical education teacher should act and represent their profession. He is respected by
1.17parents, administrators, and superintendents for his outstanding listening skills, reflection skills,
1.18and the way that he respectfully treats others; and
1.19WHEREAS, in his 30 plus years of teaching physical education and 25 years of organizing
1.20Track and Field Day events he has connected, inspired, and led more than 18,000 students; and
1.21WHEREAS, LeMoyne's compassion, commitment, and professionalism will carry over to
1.22his new position as the local union president where he will lead the entire district in all aspects of
1.23the educational realm of Anoka-Hennepin District No. 11; and
1.24NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.25commends LeMoyne Corgard for his many years of dedication and commitment.
1.26BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.27copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.28Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to LeMoyne Corgard.
