1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Douglas Scientific of Alexandria, Minnesota.
1.3WHEREAS, Douglas Scientific of Alexandria, Minnesota, is dedicated to making the
1.4world a better place by delivering innovative laboratory automation, which enables new discovery
1.5in plant genomics, animal health, human diagnostics, and pharmaceutical applications; and
1.6WHEREAS, the focus of organizational leadership is to design and manufacture cutting
1.7edge technology that optimizes Array Tape utilization while introducing unprecedented speed
1.8increases and fractional costs for scientists around the world; and
1.9WHEREAS, the commitment of the leadership of Douglas Scientific to grow their
1.10organizational workforce from four individuals in 2004 to 70 individuals in 2012, has provided
1.11opportunities for individuals from both inside and outside of the region, while the knowledge base
1.12and diversity of employees supports the growing vitality of the Alexandria regional community;
1.13and
1.14WHEREAS, the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Alexandria Area
1.15Economic Development Commission are recognizing Douglas Scientific for their significant
1.16investment and support of the Alexandria area in the creation of jobs, wages, and wealth; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.18recognizes and congratulates Douglas Scientific for its contributions to the Alexandria regional
1.19community, the State of Minnesota, and the world.
1.20BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.21an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.22the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the leadership of
1.23Douglas Scientific of Alexandria, Minnesota.
