1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring the life of Sergeant Chad D. Frokjer
1.3WHEREAS, even by the rigorous standards of the United States Marine Corps, Chad
1.4Frokjer of Maplewood led an exemplary life, both professionally and personally; and
1.5WHEREAS, as convoy commander of a mobile assault team for the 1st Battalion, 5th
1.6Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, in Afghanistan, Frokjer risked his life on a daily basis to
1.7protect his brothers-in-arms, establish civil stability, and neutralize threats to a just and peaceful
1.8society; and
1.9WHEREAS, Sergeant Chad D. Frokjer, 27, was killed during combat operations in
1.10Helmand province on June 30, 2011; and
1.11WHEREAS, Chad Frokjer is survived by his loving family, his devoted wife, and a child
1.12on the way; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.14honors the valor and sacrifice of Chad D. Frokjer and offers its deepest sympathy to his family.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.16an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that
1.17of the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the family
1.18of Chad Frokjer.
