1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Allison Germ for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award.
1.3WHEREAS, the purpose of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. is to inspire girls with the
1.4highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service so that they may become happy
1.5and resourceful citizens; and
1.6WHEREAS, to earn the highest award given by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the
1.7Gold Award, a Girl Scout must complete four interest projects, a leadership activity, a career
1.8exploration activity, a challenge project, and a Gold Award service project; and
1.9WHEREAS, Allison Germ is a serving and responsible member of her troop and has
1.10completed all of the required activities and projects necessary to earn the Gold Award; and
1.11WHEREAS, Allison's project was to implement a recycling program at the Church of St.
1.12Peter and St. Peter Catholic School in North St. Paul. She obtained recycling bins for the church
1.13and school, raised awareness of recycling in the community, and taught parishioners, staff, and
1.14students how to recycle; and
1.15WHEREAS, she will receive the Gold Award at a Gold Award Ceremony on Sunday,
1.16June 12, 2011; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.18congratulates Allison Germ for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Allison Germ.
