A bill for an act

relating to public safety; allowing participants in original ignition interlock
device program to drive employer-owned vehicles not equipped with ignition
interlock devices in certain instances.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

    Section 1. ORIGINAL IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE PROGRAM; USE
OF EMPLOYER-OWNED VEHICLES.
A person participating in the ignition interlock device program under Minnesota
Statutes 2009, section 171.305, may drive an employer-owned vehicle not equipped with
an interlock device while in the normal course and scope of employment duties with
the employer's written consent.
EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
