1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to public safety; providing an exception in the DWI vehicle forfeiture
1.3law for offenders who participate in the ignition interlock program; amending
1.4Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 169A.63, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 169A.63, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8    Subd. 13. Exception. This section does not apply if the driver who committed the
1.9designated offense or whose conduct resulted in the designated license revocation becomes
1.10a program participant in the ignition interlock program under section 171.306 within 60
1.11days following service of the notice of seizure and intent to forfeit under this section.
1.12EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2014.
