1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to health; modifying the criteria for comprehensive and primary stroke
1.3centers;amending Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 144.493,
1.4subdivisions 1, 2.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 144.493, subdivision 1,
1.7is amended to read:
1.8    Subdivision 1. Comprehensive stroke center. A hospital meets the criteria for a
1.9comprehensive stroke center if the hospital has been certified as a comprehensive stroke
1.10center by the joint commission or another nationally recognized accreditation entity and
1.11the hospital participates in the Minnesota stroke registry program.

1.12    Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 144.493, subdivision 2, is
1.13amended to read:
1.14    Subd. 2. Primary stroke center. A hospital meets the criteria for a primary stroke
1.15center if the hospital has been certified as a primary stroke center by the joint commission
1.16or another nationally recognized accreditation entity and the hospital participates in the
1.17Minnesota stroke registry program.
