1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. [13.357] CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBERS.
1.6 Subdivision 1. Classification. Checking account numbers, whether provided
1.7in whole or in part, collected or maintained by a government entity are private data on
1.8individuals or nonpublic data. For purposes of this subdivision, a checking account
1.9number does not include a state taxpayer identifying number of a business entity that is
1.10public data under section 270B.01, subdivision 5.
1.11 Subd. 2. Tennessen warning not required. The requirements of section 13.04,
1.12subdivision 2, imposed when an individual is asked to supply private or confidential
1.13data, do not apply when an individual is asked to provide a checking account number
1.14to a government entity.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
