1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 124D.86, subdivision 1, is amended to
1.7read:
1.8 Subdivision 1. Use of revenue. Districts must use integration revenue under this
1.9section for programs established under a desegregation plan filed with the Department of
1.10Education according to Minnesota Rules, parts 3535.0100 to 3535.0180, or under court
1.11order. The revenue must be used for students, including prekindergarten children, to have
1.12increased and sustained interracial contacts and improved educational opportunities and
1.13outcomes designed to close the academic achievement gap between white students and
1.14protected students as defined in Minnesota Rules, part 3535.0110, subpart 4, through
1.15classroom experiences, staff initiatives, and other educationally related programs,
1.16consistent with subdivision 1b.
1.17EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2011.
