1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to natural resources; requiring rulemaking to allow mechanical control
1.3of hybrid and narrow-leaved cattail without an aquatic plant management permit.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. HYBRID AND NARROW-LEAVED CATTAIL CONTROL;
1.6RULEMAKING.
1.7The commissioner of natural resources shall amend Minnesota Rules, part 6280.0250,
1.8subpart 1, item E, to allow mechanical control of hybrid and narrow-leaved cattail (Typha
1.9angustifolia) without an aquatic plant management permit. The commissioner may use the
1.10good cause exemption under Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388, subdivision 1, clause
1.11(3), to adopt the rule under this section, and Minnesota Statutes, section 14.386, does not
1.12apply except as provided under Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388.
