1.2relating to gambling; appropriating money for problem gambling.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. PROBLEM GAMBLING APPROPRIATION.
1.5$225,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $225,000 in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated
1.6from the lottery prize fund to the commissioner of human services for a grant to the
1.7state affiliate recognized by the National Council on Problem Gambling. The affiliate
1.8must provide services to increase public awareness of problem gambling, education
1.9and training for individuals and organizations providing effective treatment services to
1.10problem gamblers and their families, and research relating to problem gambling. These
1.11services must be complementary to and not duplicative of the services provided through
1.12the problem gambling program administered by the commissioner of human services.
1.13This is a onetime appropriation.
