SENATE BILL No. 981

 

 

May 3, 2018, Introduced by Senator HUNE and referred to the Committee on Agriculture.

 

 

     A bill to amend 1966 PA 225, entitled

 

"Carnival-amusement safety act of 1966,"

 

by amending section 9 (MCL 408.659).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 9. The department may shall hire inspectors to inspect

 

carnival-amusement rides . The chief carnival-amusement ride

 

inspector shall be licensed in the state as a professional

 

engineer, in accordance with Act No. 240 of the Public Acts of

 

1937, as amended, being sections 338.551 to 338.576 of the Compiled

 

Laws of 1948.and shall hire or retain an individual as the direct

 

supervisor of those inspectors who the department determines is

 

qualified in engineering and training.

 


     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
