SENATE BILL No. 937

 

 

May 14, 2014, Introduced by Senators JONES, WHITMER and HUNE and referred to the Committee on Energy and Technology.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1909 PA 279, entitled

 

"The home rule city act,"

 

(MCL 117.1 to 117.38) by adding section 3c.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 3c. Notwithstanding any charter provision, a city with a

 

population of more than 100,000 but less than 150,000 that owns a

 

municipally owned electric utility shall comply with the

 

requirements of section 9u of 1939 PA 3, MCL 460.9u.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. 936                                    

 

          of the 97th Legislature is enacted into law.
