A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 109n.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 109n. (1) An eligible individual
may receive services provided by telemedicine from a health practitioner who is
licensed, registered, or otherwise authorized under article 15 of the public
health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16101 to 333.18838, to engage in his or her
health care profession in the state where the patient is located.
(2) The department shall seek a waiver from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to implement the provisions of this section.
(3) As used in this section, "telemedicine" means that term as defined in section 105d.
