ENROLLED SENATE BILL No. 321
AN ACT to amend 2004 PA 177, entitled �An act to create the Michigan law enforcement officers memorial monument fund; to establish a commission to govern the monument fund; to prescribe the purpose of the monument fund; to prescribe the powers and duties of the commission and certain state departments and officers; to provide for penalties; and to provide for dissolution of the commission and monument fund,� by amending section 5 (MCL 28.785), as amended by 2013 PA 242.
The People of the State of Michigan enact:
Sec. 5. (1) The commission shall oversee the financing, design, and construction of a memorial monument dedicated to those individuals described in subsection (2). The commission shall solicit designs for the monument and shall select the final design.
(2) All of the following shall be inscribed on the Michigan law enforcement officers memorial monument:
(a) The name of each law enforcement officer and reserve law enforcement officer from Michigan who died in the line of duty.
(b) The name of each individual from Michigan who qualifies
as an officer who died in the line of duty for purposes of inclusion on the
National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial authorized by Public Law 98-534.
