HOUSE BILL NO. 6442
A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 105i.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 105i. (1) The department shall waive the 5-year waiting period to cover lawfully residing children and pregnant women under Medicaid or the children's health insurance program as allowed by federal law.
(2) The department shall request a waiver from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to implement subsection (1), if necessary, and shall amend the state Medicaid plan if required by federal law to do so.
