HOUSE BILL NO. 6442

November 12, 2020, Introduced by Rep. Kahle and referred to the Committee on Elections and Ethics.

A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

by amending section 510 (MCL 168.510).

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 510. At least once a month, the each county clerk shall forward a list of the last known address and birth date of all persons individuals over 18 years of age who have died within in the county to the clerk of each city or township within in the county and to the secretary of state. The city or township clerk shall compare this list with the registration records and cancel the voter registration of all deceased electors. In addition, the secretary of state shall use this list to update the qualified voter file to cancel the voter registration of all deceased electors.
