HOUSE BILL No. 6081

 

 

May 29, 2018, Introduced by Reps. Howell, Maturen, Bellino, Dianda, Kosowski, Lucido and VanderWall and referred to the Committee on Natural Resources.

 

     A bill to amend 1885 PA 152, entitled

 

"An act to authorize the establishment of facilities for former

members of the armed forces of the United States in the state of

Michigan; to create funds; and to provide for the promulgation of

rules,"

 

by amending section 10 (MCL 36.10), as added by 2016 PA 562.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 10. (1) The board of managers may enter into contracts

 

with an the authority under the Michigan veterans' facility

 

authority act, 2016 PA 560, MCL 36.101 to 36.112, to do 1 or more

 

any of the following:

 

     (a) Lease, sell, or otherwise convey property to that

 

authority for the development of a veterans' facility. as that term

 

is defined in the Michigan veterans' facility authority act.

 

     (b) Any other agreement regarding Provide for the care or

 

housing of veterans in a Michigan veterans' facility.

 


     (2) The board of managers shall provide staffing to any the

 

authority operated under the Michigan veterans' facility authority

 

act, 2016 PA 560, MCL 36.101 to 36.112, that is sufficient to

 

provide for the care, housing of veterans, and operations of any

 

veterans' facility. as that term is defined in the Michigan

 

veterans' facility authority act.

 

     (3) The board of managers shall cause the water at each

 

veterans' facility under its supervision to be sampled and tested

 

on an annual basis for the presence of lead and all other

 

substances for which there is a state drinking water standard

 

established under the safe drinking water act, 1976 PA 399, MCL

 

325.1001 to 325.1023, to determine whether the water is in

 

compliance with that act.

 

     (4) As used in this section, "veterans' facility" means that

 

term as defined in section 2 of the Michigan veterans' facility

 

authority act, 2016 PA 560, MCL 36.102.
