A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled

"The code of criminal procedure,"

(MCL 760.1 to 777.69) by adding section 1h to chapter IV.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

CHAPTER IV

Sec. 1h. (1) If an individual for whom an arrest warrant has been issued is apprehended by a law enforcement officer or agency in a jurisdiction that is 100 or more miles from the warrant-issuing jurisdiction, the law enforcement officer or agency that apprehended the individual shall contact the department of state police or the department of natural resources to request transport of the individual to warrant-issuing jurisdiction.

(2) The department of state police and the department of natural resources shall make law enforcement officers of those departments available to transport individuals under this section.

(3) A transport requested under this section must be fulfilled not longer than 3 days after it is requested.
