HOUSE BILL No. 5611

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1507c.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1507c. (1) The department shall develop or select

 

recommended model instructional content and materials on human

 

trafficking to promote awareness of the dangers of human

 

trafficking and the ways that young people can avoid becoming at

 

risk of becoming victims of human trafficking.

 

     (2) A school district or public school academy is encouraged

 

to include the recommended model instructional content and

 

materials developed or selected by the department under subsection

 

(1), or other similar instruction, as part of its curriculum under

 


sections 1507 and 1507b.
