A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1290.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1290. The board of a school district or board of
directors of a public school academy shall ensure that the school
district or public school academy, or a public school operated by
the school district, is not a member of an athletic conference or
of a statewide interscholastic athletic association and does not
participate in events operated or sponsored by the conference or
association unless the conference or association has a policy,
bylaw, rule, or regulation that provides that an interscholastic
football game must be ended if 1 team has a lead of 17 points or
more with 1 minute or less remaining in the game, with the team
that is ahead being declared to be the winner.
