A bill to amend 1909 PA 279, entitled
"The home rule city act,"
(MCL 117.1 to 117.38) by adding section 4v.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 4v. If a city charter, on the effective date of the
amendatory act that added this section, prohibits or does not
provide for a general ad valorem local road funding tax or limits
the amount of general ad valorem taxes that can be contributed to
the costs of local road funding projects funded by special
assessments, and that city amends its charter to allow or provide
for a general ad valorem local road funding tax, the charter
amendment may provide for a temporary exemption from any general ad
valorem local road funding tax for any property that is located
within a special assessment district having an unexpired special
assessment district roll for local road funding purposes.
