A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding sections 483b and 957a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 483b. (1) An individual employed to circulate a petition
described in section 482 must not be paid a fixed rate or amount
for each petition signature collected or for each completed
petition signature sheet.
(2) If an individual receives compensation to circulate a
petition described in section 482, then the individual must be
compensated at an hourly rate for time worked.
Sec. 957a. (1) An individual employed to circulate a recall
petition under this chapter must not be paid a fixed rate or amount
for each recall petition signature collected or for each completed
recall petition signature sheet.
(2) If an individual receives compensation to circulate a
recall petition under this chapter, then the individual must be
compensated at an hourly rate for time worked.
