HOUSE BILL NO. 4976
A bill to amend 2016 PA 407, entitled
"Skilled trades regulation act,"
(MCL 339.5101 to 339.6133) by adding section 710.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 710. Notwithstanding any other provision in this article, the department may issue a license under this article without an examination to an individual if, at the time of application, all of the following requirements are met:
(a) The individual holds a valid license issued by another state that is equivalent to the license the individual is applying for, as determined by the department.
(b) The requirements for licensure in the other state are, at a minimum, substantially equivalent to the requirements for licensure under this article, as determined by the department.
(c) The other state extends the same privileges through reciprocity to an individual licensed under this article.
