A bill to amend 1978 PA 105, entitled
"An act to provide grants to students enrolled in independent
nonprofit institutions of higher learning; and to provide for the
promulgation of rules,"
by amending section 4 (MCL 390.1274), as amended by 2004 PA 184.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 4. A student is eligible for a grant if the student meets
all of the following criteria:
(a)
The student is Is enrolled as a full-time or part-time
student at an eligible college or university as specified in
section 2. In order to be eligible for a grant, a part-time student
must be enrolled in at least a one-half time course of study as
defined by the authority.
(b)
The student is Is not enrolled in an institution whose
primary purpose is to prepare students for ordination or
appointment as a member of the clergy of a church, denomination, or
religious association, order, or sect.
(c)
The student has Has resided in this state continuously for
the preceding 12 months and is not considered a resident of any
other state.
(d) Is a United States citizen or any other student described
as eligible to receive title IV, HEA program assistance under 34
CFR 668.33.
(e) (d)
The student is Is making satisfactory academic
progress as defined by the college or university in which the
student is enrolled.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless all of the following bills of the 99th Legislature are
enacted into law:
