A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1177b.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1177b. If the board of a school district or intermediate
school district or the board of directors of a public school
academy determines that more than 5% of pupils enrolled in a school
operated by the board or board of directors have not been tested
for and immunized or protected against diseases specified by the
director of the department of health and human services as
described under section 1177, the board or board of directors shall
ensure that the school complies with both of the following
requirements:
(a) Posts a sign on each entrance to the school that is at
least 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches and that states in at least 24-
point font that more than 5% of pupils enrolled at the school have
not been tested for and immunized or protected against diseases as
described in this section.
(b) Posts on its website homepage that more than 5% of pupils
enrolled at the school have not been tested for and immunized or
protected against diseases as described in this section.
