HOUSE BILL NO. 4483
A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1164c.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 1164c. (1) Not later than August 1, 2021, the department shall develop or adopt, and make available to public schools, a model program of instruction on cursive as a type of penmanship.
(2) Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, the board of a school district or intermediate school district or board of directors of a public school academy may incorporate the model program of instruction described under subsection (1) in the curriculum offered by schools operated by the board or board of directors.
