HOUSE BILL No. 4300

 

February 17, 2011, Introduced by Reps. Hooker, Scott, McMillin, Shaughnessy, Genetski, Lund, Price and Rogers and referred to the Committee on Education.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1245.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1245. If the board of a school district or intermediate

 

school district or board of directors of a public school academy

 

withholds union or other employee organization dues or fees from an

 

employee's pay pursuant to an agreement with the collective

 

bargaining representative of the employee, the board or board of

 

directors shall ensure that the school district, intermediate

 

school district, or public school academy posts all of the

 

following information on its website, and updates the information

 

within 14 days of any change, with a link to the information on the

 

homepage:

 

     (a) Identification of each collective bargaining unit for

 

which the school district, intermediate school district, or public

 

school academy withholds those dues or fees.

 

     (b) For each collective bargaining unit identified under

 

subdivision (a), the annual amount of the dues or fees withheld for

 

an employee who is a member of that collective bargaining unit.
