An Act relative to insurance advisory committees.



��������������� Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 3 of Chapter 32B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006

official edition, is hereby amended by striking out the fourth and fifth sentences of the first paragraph and by inserting in place thereof the following sentences:

Prior to the purchase of said insurance, and execution of all such agreements or contracts within the limits established by said sections, the appropriate public authority shall convene and consult with an advisory committee for the purpose of securing the written recommendations of a majority of the membership of said committee. Said committee shall meet at least once a year not later than ninety days before the expiration of the current agreement or contract and shall consist of ten members as follows: eight persons to be appointed to membership on such committee by the employee organizations representing the employees affected, as such organizations are defined by chapter 150E, section 1, one person to be appointed to membership of such committee by employees who are not members of any employee organization and one person who shall be a retiree of a governmental unit who shall be appointed to membership on said committee by the appropriate public authority.���
