An Act to authorize group insurance for volunteer firefighters.
��������������� Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.� Chapter 32B of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking
out Section 2B and inserted in place thereof the following new Section 2B:
Section 2B: In any city, town, fire district or water district which accepts
the provisions of this section, reserve firefighters, permanent-intermittent
firefighters, call firefighters and volunteer firefighters shall be considered
employees under this Chapter, notwithstanding the definition of �Employee� in
Section 2, and upon retirement shall be considered retirees under this Chapter.
This section may be accepted in any city by a vote of its city council, with approval of the mayor in a municipality with a town council, by a vote of its town council, in a town by a majority vote at any annual or special town meeting and in a fire or water district by a majority vote at any annual or special district meeting.���������
