An Act providing for the viability of fire hydrants in winter.
��������������� Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
����������� SECTION
1. Chapter 148 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting after
section 27B the following section:�
Section 27C. All fire hydrants or other similar device used for fire protection
which is located in any public or private way shall be equipped with a marker
of not less than 4 feet in height during the period from November first to May
first.
SECTION 2. The division of fire prevention shall establish a program to provide grants for cities and towns to assist in their compliance with section 27C of chapter 148 of the General Laws.
