An Act realtive to publicly funded beds.



 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECT ION 1.  Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 220 the following section:-

Section  221.  The Department of Public Health shall hold a public hearing before the removal of any publicly funded bed. Furthermore, this hearing must take place sixty days before the proposed removal of said bed with notification provided to appropriate outlets. This hearing of the department may be held by the commissioner, or his designee or the hearings officer if so authorized by the commissioner and must be open to the public.
