Summary

Create a new section of KRS 158.845 to 158.849 to establish performance awards to teachers based on student achievement on Advanced Placement tests or International Baccalaureate tests in advanced science and mathematics, beginning no later than the 2013-2014 academic year; require the Kentucky Department of Education to distribute the awards; specify that if funds in the science and mathematics advancement fund are insufficient for making the required awards that the expenditure to make awards shall be considered a necessary government expense; amend KRS 158.847 to authorize use of the science and mathematics advancement fund for monetary awards to teachers; APPROPRIATION.
