Summary

Propose to create a new section of the Constitution of Kentucky to create the Legislative Advisory Redistricting Commission; require the commission to draft redistricting plans for state legislative districts; establish standards to be followed by the commission and permit any member of the General Assembly under certain circumstances to file a plan; propose to amend Section 33 of the Constitution of Kentucky to clarify standards relating to redistricting; require the General Assembly to remain in session, without pay to the members, for purpose of redistricting if the General Assembly fails to redistrict by April 15; provide that the Kentucky Supreme Court shall have the authority to redistrict the state if the General Assembly fails to redistrict by April 30; submit to the voters for ratification or rejection; include ballot language.
