Summary

Create new sections of KRS Chapter 17 to require the Department of Kentucky State Police to establish the child abuse offender registry as funding becomes available; limit the registry to child abuse offenders who are convicted under KRS Chapter 507, 507A, 508, 509, or 530, excluding KRS 530.050, or KRS 510.140, 510.150, or 529.110, and whose victim was a minor under the age of 18; create the offender registry funds; amend KRS 431.073 and 431.078 to provide that a portion of expungement fees be deposited in the offender registry fund; amend KRS 42.320 to provide that 5% of court costs shall be paid to the Department of Kentucky State Police to be used for the forensic laboratories; provide that this Act shall be cited as Sophie’s and Kylie Jo’s Law; APPROPRIATION.
