A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Penn High School
debaters Florence Chen, Francis Chen, and Sean Paulsen on
finishing first in their respective debates at the 2011 Indiana
High School Forensic Association State Debate Tournament.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Penn High
School debaters Florence Chen, Francis Chen, and Sean
Paulsen on finishing first in their respective debates at the 2011
Indiana High School Forensic Association State Debate
Tournament.
Whereas, The Penn High School debate team made an
impressive showing at the 2011 Indiana High School
Forensic Association (IHSFA) State Debate Tournament held
in Kokomo, Indiana on February 4, 2011;
Whereas, Penn debaters Francis Chen and Sean Paulsen
finished first in the 2-Person Policy Debate. Teammate
Florence Chen finished first in the Student Congressional
Debate;
Whereas, Penn High School finished third overall in the
tournament; and
Whereas, Penn High School debaters Francis Chen, Sean Paulsen, and Florence Chen finishing first in their respective debates is an impressive accomplishment that merits
recognition: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates Penn High School
debaters Florence Chen, Francis Chen, and Sean Paulsen on finishing
first in their respective debates at the 2011 Indiana High School
Forensic Association State Debate Tournament.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Florence Chen, Francis Chen,
Sean Paulsen, and Penn High School Principal Steve Hope.
