A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Carmel High
School girls tennis team on their 2011 State Championship.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Carmel
High School girls tennis team on their 2011 State
Championship.
Whereas, The Carmel High School girls tennis team won
the IHSAA State Championship, leaving their mark on the state
and ensuring their place in history;
Whereas, The win for the girls tennis team marked the
school's 100th state championship, a state best;
Whereas, Carmel coach Sharon Rosenburgh celebrated an
impressive milestone. Receiveing her fifth State Championship
ties her for the second most girls tennis titles by a coach in
Indiana state history;
Whereas, Sophomore Mikaela Carlson could not be
outdone during the deciding match, she outlasted her opponent
for two hours and forty five minutes in the scorching summer
heat, landing Carmel a 21-0 undefeated season;
Whereas, Olivia Trancik was named the recipient of the Mental Attitude Award. The award is presented each year by
the IHSAA executive committee to an outstanding senior. The
four-year letter winner helped Carmel to three consecutive
State finals while earning a 3.99 GPA; and
Whereas, Hours of dedication on the courts helped guide
the Carmel High School girls tennis team to an undefeated
season and a well deserved State Championship title:
Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates the Carmel High School girls tennis team on their 2011 State Championship.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the State is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Carmel High School girls tennis team, Head Coach Mike Bostic, Athletic Director Jim Inskeep, and the Carmel Clay school board.
