A SENATE RESOLUTION requesting that the Health Finance Commission study adult day services.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION requesting that the Health
Finance Commission study adult day services.
Whereas, With medical advances increasing longevity
and catastrophic illness requiring care that families often
cannot provide, a need exists for more and better adult day
services;
Whereas, Adult day services programs can provide the
patient with much needed socialization and care in a
community setting and give the caregiver a respite from the
demands of caregiving; and
Whereas, However, it is the responsibility of state
government to protect the patient: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Health Finance Commission is requested to
study adult day services, including requirements, rules, and regulations
on operating an adult day services program, and to report its findings
to the General Assembly.
