100th birthday.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION to honor Estelle Ashby on her
100th birthday.
Whereas, Estelle Ashby was born on February 1, 1913 to
Samuel B. Barrett and Bessie Copeland Barrett;
Whereas, As a child, Estelle spent spent countless hours
with her beloved Grandmother Sina Copeland and attended a
one-room schoolhouse before studying at Spurgeon High
School;
Whereas, Estelle is a family woman, who was married to
her loving husband, Arnold Verne Ashby, for 63 years and
together, they raised six wonderful children;
Whereas, Estelle saw the rise of the automobile and other
technological marvels that are taken for granted today;
Whereas, Estelle has witnessed some amazing feats
accomplished by women and the Women's Rights Movement,
including the right to vote, invaluable participation during
World War II, and access to higher education;
Whereas, Estelle remains bright of mind, keeps abreast of current events, and enjoys daily hobbies of art and music;
Whereas, Estelle attributes her long life to genetics,
independent thinking, Christian beliefs, and her daily breakfast
diet: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates Estelle Ashby on reaching the age of 100 years young.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to her eldest son, Delbert M. Ashby, who will present it at Estelle's 100th birthday party.
