A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Bedford North
Lawrence High School girls basketball team on winning the Class 4A
Championship.

RESOLUTION No. _____
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Bedford
North Lawrence High School girls basketball team on winning the
Class 4A Championship.
Whereas, The Bedford North Lawrence Stars were
undefeated in their season with a record of 28-0 and defeated
the Roncalli Rebels 62-51 in overtime to make it to the state
finals;
Whereas, The Stars won the Class 4A State
Championship against the Fort Wayne South Side Archers
with a score of 54-51;
Whereas, The Stars have given Bedford North Lawrence
its first girls basketball State Championship since 1991 and
third girls basketball State Championship in school history;
Whereas, The team consists of impressive players, including sophomores Alexa Bailey and Dominique McBryde, who each scored 19 points during the championship game; junior Brittani Rizzi who leads the state with 82 three-pointers, and senior Carli Fields who was awarded with the IHSAA Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award; and
Whereas, The team was coached to victory by Coach Kurt Godlevske with offense assistance from Damon Bailey,
former Indiana University basketball star and Bedford North
Lawrence graduate: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the
Bedford North Lawrence High School girls basketball team on winning
the Class 4A Championship.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Kennedy Wall, Jr.; Lauren
Boshears; Sammy Dillman; Whitney Wilson; Dominque McBryde;
Sabrina Yeary; Alexa Bailey; Brittani Rizzi; Carli Fields; Jenna Allen;
Kurt Godlevske, Coach; Jeff Callahan, Athletic Director; Roger Dean,
Principal; D.J. Horton, Assistant Athletic Director; Bret Szabo,
Assistant Athletic Director; and Bobby Cox, Indiana High School
Athletic Association Commissioner.
