RESOLUTION No. _____



    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Penn High School Volleyball Team on a second consecutive State Championship.

     Whereas, The Penn High School Class 4-A Volleyball team claimed first place at the 2011 High School Volleyball State Championship, ending their season with a 38-1 record and earning their second consecutive state title;

    Whereas, The Kingsmen competed against Avon, a team ranked first in the state and third in the nation;

    Whereas, The Penn High Kingsmen came into the season as the unranked underdogs, built their reputation with a nearly undefeated season, and finally reigned supreme against Avon;

    Whereas, Senior Kaitlyn Hickey led the Kingsmen with eighteen kills, three aces and eight digs. She was also the deserving recipient of the Indiana High School Athletic Association's Mental Attitude Award; and
    
    Whereas, After much perseverance the Penn High School Kingsmen fought tenaciously against the tough and relentless competition for the Championship title: Therefore ,



Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:

    
    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Penn High School Volleyball team on their 2011 State Championship.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Head Coach Sarah Hendricks and Penn High School Principal, Steve Hope.
