     A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring former Mishawaka Common Council Member, John Gleissner.

    Whereas, John Gleissner served 24 years as an at-large member of the Mishawaka Common Council and served four years as Council President;

    Whereas, John Gleissner is the longest serving councilman in Mishawaka history. Over the course of his tenure he saw roughly 2,500 ordinances come before the council and served with 31 other council members;

    Whereas, John Gleissner grew up in Mishawaka and returned in 1967 to start his first job as a teacher. He won Teach of the Year for School City of Mishawaka in 1994 and retired as a social studies teacher from John Young Middle School in 2005; and

    Whereas, Since leaving the council, John Gleissner has joined the St. Joseph County Parks Board: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors former Mishawaka Common Council Member, John Gleissner.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to John Gleissner and the Mishawaka Common Council.
