A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION memorializing Indianapolis
Fire Department Firefighter Private Duane Clark.
Whereas,
Duane Clark, an Indianapolis firefighter for
nine years, was struck and killed on September 23, 2010
while pulling into his driveway;
Whereas,
Duane Everett Clark was born June 17, 1975
to Dean and Denise Clark. Duane attended Cardinal Ritter
High School and went on to attend Indiana University with
a degree in biology. As he grew older, his desire to serve as
a firefighter grew stronger. He saw how the world was
changing and believed all people deserved help, care, and
security of knowing someone was there for them;
Whereas,
Private Duane Clark served at the Indianapolis
Fire Department for 9 years. In addition, he served at the
Wayne Township Fire Department for 2 years;
Whereas,
The firefighter community and all of
Indianapolis mourn the loss of Indianapolis Fire Department

commitment to serving the city of
Indianapolis and protecting its citizens is deserving of our
respect. Together we remember and honor his service and
keep his surviving loved ones in our hearts and prayers;
Whereas, Duane Clark was always humbled by the profession. Every training, run, or tragedy added an important element to his life. He respected each person with the highest respect and provided the best care to all;
Whereas,
In his spare time, Duane Clark loved attending
classic car shows, taking flying lessons, and working in his
garage. He was a skilled craftsman who loved learning
about wood working and home improvement;
Whereas, Duane Clark leaves behind wife Kate, who he
married September 25, 2004. Duane and Kate had twins,
Mason Everett and Molly Reilly, born on January 26, 2007.
Duane is remembered as a great husband, father, son,
brother, and friend, who cherished every moment of his life;
and
Whereas, Duane Clark was honored to serve the people
of Indianapolis as a firefighter for the Indianapolis Fire
Department. Duane will always be remembered by his
brothers and sisters at the fire department, his family, and
the stories he left behind.

service: Therefore,
of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives concurring:
SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly memorializes
Indianapolis Firefighter Duane Clark.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Kate Clark, Dean and Denise
Clark, Derek and Diane Cram, Earl and Margaret Harpenau, Cisco
and Donna Tovar, and the Indianapolis Fire Department.
