        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION supporting the goals set forth by the Alliance for Full Participation's campaign, Real Jobs-It's Everybody's Business.

    Whereas, The Alliance for Full Participation is "a formal partnership of leading organizations serving the developmental disabilities field that share a common vision- to help create a better and more fulfilling quality of life for people with developmental disabilities";

    Whereas, We all must work toward the goal of creating employment expectations for persons with developmental disabilities equal to those for people without disabilities;

    Whereas, Setting a goal to double the employment rate for people with developmental disabilities is the only way to move forward to full participation for all people in the community life;

    Whereas, The employment rate for typical Americans is 79.7 percent while the employment rate for people with developmental disabilities is only 22 percent;

    Whereas, People with developmental disabilities want to be fully functioning members of society working, earning

money, and accomplishing their own goals;

    Whereas, When people with developmental disabilities are working they are contributing valuable skills and assets to their local communities; and

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
