Synopsis: Parents on active military duty. Prohibits a court from
considering a parent's absence or relocation due to active military duty
as a factor in determining custody or permanently modifying a child
custody order.
Effective: July 1, 2010.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
family law and juvenile law.
(1) the armed forces of the United States (as defined in IC 5-9-4-3); or
(2) the National Guard (as defined in IC 5-9-4-4);
for a period that exceeds thirty (30) consecutive days in a calendar year.
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010]: Sec. 21.3. A court may not consider a parent's absence or relocation due to active duty service as a factor in determining custody or permanently modifying a child custody order.
