    A HOUSE RESOLUTION to honor Robert John Hoerr on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
    

    Whereas, Robert John Hoerr was born on April 26, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois to John and Aline (Weisser) Hoerr; and,

    Whereas, on April 14, 1946, he married his loving wife of sixty-five years, Marguerite A. Beer of Milford, Indiana; and,

    Whereas, a skilled craftsman, Mr. Hoerr learned and mastered the pattern maker trade at Caterpillar; and,

    Whereas, as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, Mr. Hoerr served our Nation honorably on both land and sea during World War II; and,

    Whereas, possessing highly specialized abilities, Mr. Hoerr was key to the economic vitality of private sector businesses such as Garvey Pattern in South Bend, Indiana and Dalton

Foundry in Warsaw, Indiana; and,


    Whereas, a dedicated family man, Mr. Hoerr raised five loving children, Rebecca A. Pelath, Robert A. Hoerr, Frederick J. Hoerr, Douglas E. Hoerr, and Jeffrey L. Hoerr, and to has date been blessed with thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and,

    Whereas, for decades, Mr. Hoerr has been a pillar of the Apostolic Christian Church in Milford and Valparaiso, Indiana, and he has served his faith by helping the poor and underprivileged at home and in Mexico; and,

    Whereas, always instilling a love of learning and hard work in his family, Mr. Hoerr's children and grandchildren have earned a variety of post-graduate academic credentials, achieved noteworthy business successes, and fulfilled important public and community service roles; and,

    Whereas, the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Mr. Hoerr on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday, and recognizes his significant contributions to the fabric of the Hoosier State: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana Representatives recognizes and congratulates Robert John Hoerr on the occasion of his 90th birthday, thanks him for a lifetime's dedication to his country, state and community, and send him every best wish for the future.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House transmit a copy of this resolution to Mr. Robert Hoerr.
