A RESOLUTION honoring Brad Arbuckle.
Whereas, Brad Arbuckle, from Clark-Pleasant Middle
School, Whiteland, was chosen as the 2009 Assistant Principal
of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals;
Whereas, Brad Arbuckle knows that rewarding good
behavior can be a powerful motivator;
Whereas, Brad uses the Internet Cafe at Clark-Pleasant
Middle School as a motivational tool to reward students who
display the appropriate behavior and influence students who
have difficulty choosing between good and bad choices;
Whereas, In an effort to reach the students who make poor
decisions at school, Brad created the B.A.S.E. (Behavior,
Academic, Social, Emotional) Program;
Whereas, This program is an alternative to school
suspension, allowing students to receive all homework, quizzes,
and tests as well as having access to assistance from the
B.A.S.E. teacher or guidance counselor;
Whereas, Throughout his career as an educator, Brad
Arbuckle has always placed the well-being of the students
above all else; and
Whereas, Brad Arbuckle believes the greatest rewards for
any educator are the notes from students and parents thanking
him "for not giving up on me": Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Brad Arbuckle on his selection as the 2009 Assistant Principal of the Year and thanks him for his dedication to the students of Clark-Pleasant Middle School.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Brad Arbuckle.
